Cash grants range from hundreds to thousands of pounds, with a general cap of around £500,000 (however, extensive research & development projects can have higher caps). Grants are not only cash rewards as many available to SMEs come in the form of vouchers for equipment and tools, reduced costs for vital resources, and employment subsidisation.
A wide variety of grants exist for businesses, under both privately and publicly funded schemes. Grants, both independent and government, are generally intended to encourage entrepreneurial activity in the UK to create new jobs and stimulate the UK economy.
